Bird Watching, how it started

Bird watching is generally seen as a strange outdoor activity.

I came in contact with it by my friend Michael, who is the expert. He uses Birds as indicators to qualify landscapes. So he need to count them in a scientific way, need to identify even rare species. When he got involved in the detail counting and banding of eagle owls, I came to assist him. The owls do breed in rocky terrain and climbing gear need to be used. I gave lessons to Michael and helped him on many, very early sunday mornings.
