New York

It was our last R and R ( rest and recuperation leave) from Haiti. June 2011 we went to New York for 10 days.

From the beginning it was an interesting trip. We booked an apartment for 9 nights in upper west side. And we were given directions to collect the keys to the apartment at the deli around the corner. We arrived in JFK around 11 pm and when we arrived at the Deli it was past mid night…. I was worried about the arrangement. But everything went on very well.. we got the keys, did the essential shopping and went to our home to be for the next week or so.
After living in a tent for such a long time, having an apartment for us was a luxury.
We enjoyed every bit of our stay.. In the mornings we had breakfast on the balcony …. Overlooking the busy street of upper west…. In every way it is better to have an apartment than staying in a hotel… you feel like being a New Yorker
We visited museums, central park.. We hired a tandem and cycled around the city…. It was great to be on a tandem on Times Square.
We went to Broadway to see Mamma mia….Katz deli was another attraction for us…
The night life was great… our last evening we ended up in a super posh bar of which at the entrance I was asked to show my ID…..
The sun set cruise around the statue of liberty was simply amazing…
You will see our moments of New York in the album…. Enjoy
